Linkin Park interview Red Bull Sound Space at KROQ

Wherever you Linkin Park go, they carry the party and that’s exactly what they did in the performance at Red Bull Sound Space promoting his latest album, The Hunting Party. The presenter, Ted Stryker, nicknamed favorite on KROQ as a “city side” of which many of us have been here "from Day 1, even before Day 1" .
They have been with the band since he bribed his friends to go to his concerts in small local Sunset Strip to a totally different kind of party at his apartment in Westwood. They have been with the band since someone vomited all over the carpet of someone during those famous parties. They have been with the band since his first music break through in KROQ six critically acclaimed albums.
This simultaneous devotion and homefield seems relax Linkin Park completely before intimate shows like this at Red Bull Sound Space, although a couple of days before they played for 50,000 people.
Not so relaxed, however, as Chester Bennington when the band recorded The Hunting Party . When asked if the process of recording their sixth album was "easy or hard" , Bennington joked that he did not know because he spent "taking naps all the time."
"I was rested. I would feel rested." Bennington made. “‘m sure I sang when I was in the study, between naps. sounds funny but it’s true. I was literally taking naps on the couch, what I do in each study from the beginning of time … for us. In each study we will where there is a chair that somehow dominates me. Additionally, crazy enough, it was with Rick Rubin too. Same chair where I would sleep, the sleep would always . “
Obviously, Bennington did more than sleep, so he said the "seriousness" that took The Hunting Party  was "very good" .
"I was telling Mike the other day, ‘Thanks for telling move in a different direction," said Bennington before saying produce the album themselves allowed them a big "U-turn “and that sent them to a path that "inspired the band " .
"We were all very excited about doing those songs. Always feel that the album we’re doing is the best representation of how we were at that time. It’s like being in a different band all the time. It’s really impressive.’m Just trying to keep me out of the way and let the magina happen when I need it, call me, and I wake up from my nap. "
Shinoda agree that there was magic in making your album, especially because first of all, they try to "stay excited" . They wanted to do something "challenging, fun and new" and "something that was more aggressive" , then what they had been doing, or "what was going on out there, usually in rock."
"There was a certain kind of sound we wanted, so we spend most of the time or perhaps nine or more months making The Hunting Party and I think as we realized the vision we set out to achieve. “
They did not need to hire a producer because they knew exactly what I needed and did not need the album "someone to share ideas" . Although they stressed the producer Rick Rubin for all the tips you have given Linkin Park in the course of his career that has made them "a cornerstone in the formation of the band" . Linkin Park said that, as an entity they only knew what the album needed.

And while things look great for the band that has been around almost without problems since its inception in 1996, recognize the existence of different creative personalities and otherwise.
"Believe it or not, every single person on the album and and each of the people we work with in the past, any kind of person who comes to the creative process is starting from scratch in a lot of ways, even if two bands sound like. "
said Linkin Park when asked about working with Daron Malakian of System of a Down and Tom Morello of Rage Against The Machine.
"Group dynamics and personalities appeared. definitely for us, gave us an appreciation of what we had, we had dynamic … Because we had arguments, too. had difficult times in conversations. "
Then Bennington makes a joke about having an argument about having sushi at least three times a week. For each argument Linkin Park , only seem to grow more on the creative and with more presence in his art. And luckily for them, they have no pay-for-play to convince their fans and friends.
"Fortunately, now we have to trick the kids to come to our party after all. If you wish, I promise not to throw up on the carpet, Brad invites you to his house."
