A brand new Fort Minor video has just been premiered for their new
song “Welcome”! You can watch it above! The video is super fun to watch
because it’s a 360 experience as Mike explained yesterday:
“The
video, shot in Venice, CA, is a 360 experience. In it, I painted a
(huge) mural made from 1000 vinyl record jackets. After the video, I
signed and/or drew on each one, and a vinyl single was placed inside
with a print of the entire mural. Those are available now (until they
sell out).
Head over to the Fort Minor website (
FortMinor.com)
to watch the 360 video tomorrow. If you watch it on your phone in the
YouTube app, you’ll be able to move around in the space by moving your
phone. If you watch it on your desktop or laptop computer, just click
and drag on the video to look around. Watch it more than once, you’ll
have a different experience each time.”
Chrome browser is required on desktop and YouTube APP is required on mobile.
Go to
Mashable to
get an exclusive look behind the scenes with Shinoda and director
Jeff Nicholas. “When you lock eyes with someone in VR it’s a different
experience than when someone looks at the camera in a flat frame,”
Nicholas said. “Being able to explore how we can create empathy and a
sense of community within this space, especially in relation to this
song, was really inspiring.”
