Meteora Tour Revisited: 05.02.2004 Long Beach, CA

Our seventh download in the LPLive "Meteora Tour Revisited" series is the band's performance in Long Beach, CA in February 2004. This show featured a slightly abbreviated setlist, with two songs ('My December' and 'P5hng Me A*wy') being dropped from the encore because Chester was sick. He lets fans sing quite a bit of the show and even apologizes to them mid-set. However, this is still a very energetic show and over the years has been a popular Meteora World Tour recording. Since this is one of the "hometown" area shows for the band, the crowd goes absolutely nuts the entire show.

The show the day after this one in Inglewood, CA was postponed, with the announcement reading, "We deeply regret that the show at the Great Western Forum in Inglewood has been postponed. Chester is ill with bronchitis and acute laryngitis and has been advised not to perform." It was rescheduled for March 15th at the end of the tour.

Highlights in this show include Mike trading hats with a fan mid-set, a fan named Jeff playing guitar on 'Faint', and Chester even throwing the microphone after 'From The Inside'. Personally, this is my favorite DVD of the tour.

And as a surprise, we have a new transfer of this recording to present for download! While this DVD has a few issues on its own, we still consider this new transfer an upgrade because a corrupted version of the old version was shared widely. It had playback problems and issues came up while burning the files to a video DVD or copying the disc. We refrained from creating a supercut DVD joining these two different transfers since that would result in further quality loss from re-encoding.
